RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - FEATURED REVIEW

I've been hooked on the, "Plant of the Apes" films since I was ten years old. The 2001 version with Mark Walberge was pretty darn good and the 2011 release has to cover a lot of ground to match such a production from 2001 much less surpassing it in gross sales.

The special effects team that worked on the 2011 release, "RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES" is going to take sci-fi movies to the next level in special effects. This film is a MUST SEE readers!

The revisited prequel directed by Rupert Wyatt was very smart and delivered a solid "PUNCH TO OUTTER SPACE". "The action will make your twitch in your seats". The storyline was smart and very detailed as writers, Pierre Boulle, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver delivered an awesome story (script) for all viewers to understand.

The cast, James Franco, John Lithgow and Brian Cox all deliver solid performances as the story unfolds and makes your mind think, Hum..? I pre-dict an Oscar Nom for actor, John Lithgow for his performance in this film.

This Film was well Written and well Directed and we should see solid Revenues from the Box Offices Tickets Sales from around the World. I rate this film 8.5 out of 10. This film will gross over $250M Worldwide. MUST CHECK IT!

Texaco Country Showdown - Clark County Fair 2011

I've been looking forward to attending K-99 F.M., Texaco Country Showdown for weeks now. I did not know that I would be battling 90 degree weather and one heck of a hot ride to the Clark County Fair. But, several weeks ago the air conditioning in my van went on the blink and I had to tough it out so, I was already heated up when I got there.

For years now, K-99 F.M. has been promoting the “Day in the Country” at John Cloud Park in Huber Heights. Each year, crowds got larger and larger thus allowing K-99 to spend bigger buck$ to bring in the BIG GUNS of Country to draw bigger crowds. That was then and this is now.

Back over the years since 1999, K-99’s big time productions have been getting lame and produced with a much smaller budget. The last few years stand out and have been the worst in my memory.

Texaco’s 2011 Country Showdown was no different. Once I arrived and made the long hot journey from the parking lot to the BIG TENT, I thought for sure there would be some kind of large commercial fans circulating the air, trying to cool off the tent that’s set up to seat 1000 people. NOPE! Looking around, I seen one large fan on the stage but it’s not running.

From the front row where I was sitting, the K-99 F.M. Radio Banner had fallen down from the bottom of the center stage, but no-one stopped to fix it before the show started. The sound system was not hooked up correctly and kept fading in and out during contest performances, Nancy Wilson’s pre & post show comments, CD giveaways and all the announcements.

What is the deal with Nancy Wilson anyway? Does her family own K-99 F.M. Radio or what? This has to be true because any smart program manager or station owner would have fired her ass years ago. She is so radio political. I’m sorry if the truth hurts. She has lost her radio flair and check out the god awful outfit she wore on stage to prove it. Appearance & Image is everything Nancy! I won’t be listening to your station anymore.

My brother Kevin (Boo Boo) Williams entered this competition and was number three in the Showdown’s line-up. Let me refresh your memories about my brother Kevin. His band ELDORODO and the U.S.A. BAND won the K-99 F.M. Battle of the Bands three different times and was the opening act for the “Day in the Country” in 1993, 1994 & 1998. Maybe some of you remember them. Talent and experience was on his side.

The singing competition line up was as follows: 1. Joel Wilson, 2. Kevin Henderson, 3. Kevin Williams, 4. Shanna, 5. Bourbon Lakes, 6. J.D. Outlaw, 7. Jennifer Lee, 8. Debi Lieurance, 9. Union Rose, 10. Bronson Hetzer.

A big CONGRATS goes out to “UNION ROSE”, winner of Texaco’s K-99 F.M. Radio Country Showdown for this regional .

Rumors have surfaced that Nancy Wilson was over heard whispering to the inexperienced talent judging panel that Kevin Williams and the band backing him up were prior winners of this competition on three different occasions. To me, that seems really unfair and really shows Nancy’s playing her politics. Why would she do that?

Miami Valley, when the full video of this competition becomes available, please check it out and judge all the talent for yourself.

Kevin’s on his way to Nashville now for his audition for the Television Series “THE VOICE”. Good luck my brother.

Tuesdays Joke of the Day

A man approached the window of a movie theater with a chicken on his shoulder and asked for two tickets.

"Who's the other ticket for?" the ticket girl asked.

"For my pet chicken." He said, pointing to the bird.

"I'm sorry," the girl tells him, "but we don't allow animals in the theater."

The man walked around the corner of the building, and stuffed the chicken into his pants. He returned to the ticket window and bought a ticket, entered the theater, and sat down.

The chicken started to get too hot, so the man, figuring it was okay because it was dark to unzipped his pants and let the chicken stick its head out.

The woman seated next to him looked down in horror. She nudged her friend Amanda and whispered, "Amanda! This man next to me just unzipped his pants!"

Amanda replied, "Oh, don't worry about it. Just ignore him. If you've seen one, you've seen them all."

The woman whispered back, "I know, I know, but this one's eating my popcorn!"

JOKE of the DAY!

GRANNIE AND BELLS

On hearing that her elderly grandfather had just passed away, Katie went straight to her grandparent's house to visit her 95 year old grandmother and comfort her.

When she asked how her grandfather had died, her grandmother replied, "He had a heart attack while we were making love on Sunday morning."

Horrified, Katie told her grandmother that 2 people nearly 100 years old having sex would surely be asking for trouble.

"Oh no, my dear, " replied granny. "Many years ago, realizing our advanced age, we figured out the best time to do it was when the church bells would start to ring. It was just the right rhythm. Nice and slow and even. Nothing too strenuous, simply in on the Ding and out on the Dong."

She paused, wiped away a tear and then continued, "And if that damned ice cream truck hadn't come along, he'd still be alive today!"

THE HANGOVER 2

Movie Review by: Fat Cat Randy

Well, the Wolf Pack Gang is back again for another wedding. This time the wedding bells take them all the way to Bangkok, Thailand. Faith decides to punk the guys in such a way that.....WAIT....The rest of this awesome funny story is for you readers to find out. Go see this flick readers and find out the outcome of this Hilarious funny story...

Director Todd Phillips pulled it off and delivered a super funny sequel. In today's movie market that is a real hard thing to do. But he did it and he did it right to the funny bone. The writing was spot on and will absolutely make you laugh your ass off. There is even a chase scene in this movie....

The cast starting with Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifiankis and Ken Jeong all made the script work to the core. The timing was a direct hit with each punch line. The catchphrases will make you go hmmm. Be prepared to laugh till it hurts.

If you haven't seen this funny comedy yet, get out there and CHECK IT. It don't matter who you take with you, its that damn funny. The DVD will be added to my collection. I rate this Comedy a 9.0 out of 10. This Sequel will make more money than the first film. I will predict that there will be another Sequel sometime within the next 3yrs. Oh yes, I said that!

DON'T BE IN A HURRY TO LEAVE THE THEATER AFTER THE SHOW. WATCH THE CREDITS. YOU'll BE GLAD YOU DID!

BURNING HEARTS

A Song by: Fat Cat Randy aka R. Scott Williams

Sitting by the fire
Feeling the heat
Watching the snow fall
This was ment to be,

Sharing my life
With the one I love
Always together
Forever in love,

(Chorus)
Burning Hearts, the fire is burning
In our hearts, filled with the love
From start, we’ve got burning hearts,

As the fire burns,
We pour the wine,
A toast to love,
A soft piece of mind

I want it to last
all night long,
I’ll love you forever
This you should always know,

(Chorus)
Burning Hearts, the fire’s burning
In our hearts, filled with the love
From the start, we’ve got burning hearts,

Burning Hearts, the fire is burning
In our hearts, filled with the love
From start, we’ve got burning hearts

THE LAST HURT

A Poem by R. Scott Williams

Those people who we love the most are the same people who hurt us most of all.
Precious time ticks by and those evil words are carved into one’s broken heart and it falls.

One who walks in the shadow of death hears painful words and bad feelings are spread.
Burden falls upon those who lashed out, so I will choose the distance and all the Meds.

No more hurt can I take or will I take from you.
When the end is near, life will pass before our eyes, many regrets, what will you do?

THOR - Movie Review - Thor Delivers!

Movie Review by; Fat Cat Randy

Marvel Comics does it again with the release of THOR. There is now a new Billion Dollar BLOCKBUSTER Comic Book Hero among us and the great City of Hollywood.

This film ROCKS HARD and had everything needed for a Hot Summer Smash Hit. The Action in this Film was Creative, Intense and Rolled like Thunder as Lighting Cracked Some Ass!

The Director should be proud and pat himself on the back because he delivered a masterpiece hit that will set some kind of Box Office records, I'm sure for a new Franchise opening.

The Script was well written and told an un-easy clear fantasy story that needed to be told. The Gods have spoken and this writer says, "There will be Sequels".

The Cast performed masterfully in their World of make believe. Anthony Hopkins was the only person that could have played Thor's Father. His brief but important lines commanded the screen with each second his face appeared and his voice be heard on the big screen.

This Film will Gross over $300M Domestically and $1Billion Worldwide. If you have not seen this Flick, get to the Theaters and CHECK IT! You'll be glad you did.

GULLIVER'S TRAVELS - Silly but Fun!

Movie Review By: Fat Cat Randy - aka - R. Scott Williams

This film was really creative to say the least. However the director and the writer really missed on a few key points of this movie. There were way too many silly scenes that should have been cut out of this film. There should have been some re-writes and some re-shoots. I would say that the budget probably would not allow this. The writing was all over the place and did not focus on the main story-line. There was no introduction of the other Clan that lived across the sea. They just came out of no-where.

I’m a big fan of Jack Black and when I saw the trailer for this flick, I had to check it out. After saying that, I was very disappointed in this release. Box office receipts would agree with me. This film only grossed, $43M Domestically, $ 222M Worldwide after a budget of $ $112M. This film made money but it would have made much more had the changes been made. In my final opinion this film was a cross between Ironman and Wild, Wild West with little twist and turns here and there. I rate this film a 6.5 out of 10.

THE THREE GREEDY PIGS

A short story by: Fat Cat Randy - aka R. Scott Williams

Once upon a time there were three greedy pigs living in the south part of the forest. There was the Father Pig who owned a farm and had two little pig sons that helped him work the farm.

One day, the Father Pig offered the sick Wolf a job on his farm and made him a really good bonus offer. If the Wolf worked really hard and long hours on the pig’s farm, he would make a lot of extra bonus money as long as the farm produced a good harvest for market every month. The sick Wolf has been screwed over many times from this Pig farmer but had to take a chance because the Pig farmer said he had changed.

The sick Wolf lived far, far away in the North part of the forest. The sick Wolf had to move a long way to get to the Pig’s farm in the South part of the forest. Well, the sick Wolf moved and worked very hard and very long hours so he could make enough money to take care of his family of Wolves. The sick Wolf was always the first one on the farm every morning.

The Wolf thought his first harvest money would be enough to feed his family but the Pig farmer decided to change the harvest deal and screw over the sick Wolf once again. The sick Wolf had no choice but to continue working on the farm. The sick Wolf seen and recorded all the dirty deeds the Pig farmer and his sons had done to the markets.

The Pig famer and his sons all were making a lot of money from the large harvest each month. Each of the farmer’s sons bought new wagons, went on expensive trips and ate out at fancy places in the forest with their bonus money. All the other farm workers were making a lot of money except the sick Wolf. He was paid small amounts of money and was forced to live week to week.

The sick Wolf got very sick and had to go into the hospital. The Pig farmer promised the very sick Wolf that he would rent him a new wagon so he could move back to the North side of the forest in safety. But the Pig farmer lied yet again and refused to speak to the very sick Wolf or offer any kind help in moving.

The very sick Wolf was forced to sell his boat and most of his property just so he could get gold to move back to the North side of the forest in his broken wagon. The move to the North side was so hard on the sick Wolf’s wagon, the wagon broke into pieces and the sick Wolf had to spend his last bit of his gold to fix the wagon. Had the Pig farmer kept his word, the wagon would have never broken.

Now, the market people and the Sherriff of the forest are searching for the sick Wolf because they want to ask him questions about the Pig farmer, his greedy sons and all the dirty deeds that the three greedy pigs did to hundreds of innocent animals in the forest. Since the Pig farmer owes the sick Wolf lots of gold, the sick Wolf is going to HUFF, PUFF and BLOW your house down. The sick Wolf says, “KARMAS A BITCH”.

TRON - Nailed it!

Movie Review by: Fat Cat Randy

Man, this Squeal Sci-Fi Motion Picture was totally Awesome. The bright lights and the flat grids was so spectacular. No wonder this film made so much money. I can't believe it took me this long to actually watch it.

I remember watching the Original film back in the day in 1982. That is when the tide turned for me and I began to have a real love for Science Fiction. This Sequel ROCKED HARD readers and I will predict that there will be another TRON Motion Picture to be released by summer after next. Hollywood can't seem to stay away from money maker$.

Angelina Jolie looked so delicious in her brief moment in the film. Her tight ass suit made me lick my lips and my mouth just kept drooling on and on. Man, what I would do for just one night with her.

The director hit his mark with this film. The writing was very good to say the least. I look forward to the Franchise's next Sequel. Fat Cat Randy says, buy this DVD and add it to your personal collection, you won't be disappointed.

If you have not seen this flick, GET OUT THERE AND CHECK IT.......

"MY JOURNEY"

A Poem By: Fat Cat Randy - aka R. Scott Williams

My early childhood memories include watching my mother struggle to survive from a drunken fool that denied his children, refused to support them and now hides in shame like an old broken tool.

Christmas at Grandmas was truly a treasure, the smell of fresh baked cookies floating through the air, new sleds and rich uncles share the wealth, lots of presents for us kids, they delivered in dynamic flair.

My third grade teacher, Mrs. Ringler, caught me with my first girlfriend Penny, playing with critters and holding hands at the science table where that damn grey rat finally bit me.

The walk to the nurse’s office made me mad as hell, dripping blood on the floor as my ear was being pulled, Summer of 1972, Little League Baseball, I played hard and we won, The Champs, it was so very cool.

Uprooted and forced to move south, left my friends behind for a small trailer on a hill, coal stoves, one room school houses, playing pinball and Mrs. Thacker’s paddle gave my behind a swatting thrill.

Mom finally had enough, demanded to moved back, Titus Elementary here I come, the Reds won the World Series in 75 and 76, the Big Red Machine, man they had no bums.

Junior High School, what can I say, the girls were so pretty, much better than the 3rd grade, I wish I could change my High School days, we've done it all, me myself and I, it was so easy to get paid and laid.

Introduced to the weed man and lost interest in sports, like a damn fool I put down those school books, my eyes were wide open and my mind was set free, beauty comes in clearly now, beyond one’s looks.

Changing oil, fixing flats, selling sacks and pumping gas is what I did to earn a dollar at nineteen, times have changed since our day, way back, now we live in a totally new wild uncontrollable scene.

Slinging drinks, breaking up fights and chasing women sent me down a whole new path of light, old Texas, scars, black eyes and dodging bullets whizzing by, my mementos of Texas and those bar room fights.

Traveled the countryside North and South, East to West, Coast to Coast and I thought Florida was the best, Vancouver British Columbia, haggling for Rolexes in Tijuana, catching Yellow Tail in San Diego, man I had to rest.

Cupid’s arrow got me good, this time it stuck, I stopped there, where I stood, I fell hard and I fell fast, for this women who I had asked to dance, who said yes and gave me the chance, but question’s one’s past.

Now married with baby on the way, life happens and bad things are said, seven year itch is what we had, Evil spirits and devilish domains surround my soul with nothing to gain, ache by day, night life was sad.

The Stairway to heaven approaches me slowly and here lately I've tried to be holy, visions show me the new world with everything to gain, oh Sweet Angle you saved me, clearly now, I'm without the pain.

Political Term Limits: All Political Offices Should Have Term Limits!

  • Have you ever asked this question to yourself or any one else, “WHY NO TERM LIMITS,” for State Senators, Congressmen, Governor and Mayors”? But if you are elected President, you are capped at a maximum of eight years. This makes no sense at all and it sounds like total Political Bullshit to me.

  • Our great nation is turning upside down with the political corruption that seems to show its ugly face everywhere on the news or internet. Usually, it happens right around the corner of a new Election. Crooked Politicians that get caught with their hands in the cookie jars have held their political offices for decades.

  • If Term Limits were in place for State and Local Representatives, we as a nation would see a decrease in this Political Criminal Enterprise. I feel really strong about my position on Term Limits. Why should one person gain that much power and influence for such a long, long time? Some Representatives are in office for 30 or 40 years. This is crazy.

  • Fellow readers and Americans, we need to contact our Lawmakers and demand a New LAW and implement an 8 year Term Limit for all State, Federal and Local Representatives. We must let the new generation have its shot at representing their generation. How can we continue as a great nation if we force a Term Limit on a President but not State and Local Representatives?

  • This is a DOUBLE STANDARD. If you agree with me, post a note to show your support. But most important, get the word out and write your representatives to get “TERM LIMITS” put into LAW.

SKYLINE - Hit and Miss!

By: Fat Cat Randy

This film mostly Rocked & Rolled with the action and suspense that was all balled up inside of itself. However, I found that there were many things wrong with this potential money making sci-fi action flick.

The director missed on location points and story lines on where the action should be and who should be in the action. It seems that the Director and or the Writers did not know how to end this movie so, we the audence was left hanging. I will not give a spoiler alert!

Okay Movie fans, I say rent it on cable and its well worth the rental price.

    MACHETE movie Review

    By: Fat Cat Randy

    • This film had all the blood and guts of a true shoot em up revenge seeking hero kind of movie. The plot was simple and the action was truly awesome. The special effects went well over and beyond the call off duty. Michelle Rodriguez ROCKED IT HARD. I tag this flick with a MUST SEE label in bold print readers.
    • My personal film hero's from the eighties, Steven Seagal, Robert DeNiro and Don Johnson were brilliant with their bad boy character roles. Made me wanna shoot the hell out of them too. The script had it points but needed a few more twist and turns in which, I believe would have gave the audience a more SHOCK & ALL effect. Oh yeah baby.
    • This film made some money and look out because I see many more actions films from Directors, Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez. Great job guys. I'm looking forward to viewing your next project.
