JAMES BOND 007 Delivers!

Quantum of Solace

Movie Review by:

This film was intensely action packed from start to finish. “Quantum of Solace” stands out alone and taller than other Bond films. The incredible cast was lead by Daniel Craig, Mathieu Amairic, Olga Kurylenko and Judi Dench.

The cast should be credited for their exquisite and artistic talent they exhibited while portraying their characters in this newest James Bond film. I’m sure this 007 flick will become a Blockbuster Smash Hit. I predict this film will gross over $275 million or more worldwide.

With all the beautiful and different locations with superb fighting action scenes, this film was a totally mind blowing experience. The smooth white feathered writing pen scripted a twisted ride that included storyline endings that met final and true resolve. The Mojo was awesome!

I rated this film 9 out of 10. This film was absolutely brilliant! Get to the Theaters & see this flick. This film ROCKS!

Speechless!

Movie Review By:

This rude and crude comedy cost me over $25 and a trip to the emergency room because of chest pains. What was the director, Kevin Smith thinking as he twirled his flat paint brush all around, only to sign his name to and release a not so special portrait of a painting and or a funny movie. It’s okay, it happens.

The final masterpiece for the world of sick humor to ingest was a true disappointment and is receiving poor reviews everywhere on the web and in the entertainment news stories. I’m a Seth Rogan fan but these stars of sick and real comedy can’t deliver a hit with every film they write and or star in.

By the second act, I was bored and wanting to take a quick trip to the bathroom. The screenplay sagged a bit, as some key points were missed that could have brought home bigger and longer laughs. Someone overlooked the final draft of the screenplay and it was left unintended. Laughs were short, few and far between. But most important, laughing is a powerful emotion and laughs are needed in a comedy baby!

Not all films released are going to be big money makers, produce Oscar Gold or become a Super Huge Box Office Smash. I rated this film a 6 out of 10. There should have been some rewrites and then this would have been a much funnier film.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Journey to the
Center of the Earth

Movie Review By:
Fat Cat Randy

This family fun adventure was totally awesome in every aspect of film making. The story pulled me in and would not let me out. I literally felt as if I was in the movie. The creativity and imagination that poured out of the screenwriters, Michael Weiss, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin was absolutely breathtaking and gave the audience a film that will be remembered for decades to come.

Director, Eric Brevig should be very proud of this brilliant masterpiece that grossed over $100 million. I could even be as bold to say that the producers are developing and considering a sequel as you read this review. I have watched this film twice already and I see myself popping this DVD in, every time the grand babies come over to spend the night.

Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson and Anita Briem were at the top of their game, while performing their roles in this fantastic family adventure. This film had Mojo baby! The music score was right on target and tight as all get out. I rated this film 8/10. Some of the special effects, (green screen) shots were very noticeable and should have been re-shot.

Fat Cat Randy says, if you haven’t seen this film yet, watch it. Buy the DVD as I did and add it to your collection because this movie is well worth the purchase.

Oliver Stone Comes up Short.

W

Movie Review
By: Fat Cat Randy

I can’t believe I wasted my time, energy and gas money to go see this film that told me something I had already known and have watched on television for the past eight years. Oliver Stones portrayal of our 43rd President and his Vice President along with his Cabinet just confirmed what most Americans already knew. We had a cowboy toting loud mouth President that partied, drank, did drugs and was not a very smart cookie. But most people would say that he’s a confused dumbass that needed therapy in his youth and college days.

I think more people will now believe the theory and accusations that were made about Jeb Bush and his shady actions over the Florida election in 2000. This film changed my mind about it for sure. The Bush family is a powerful family with ties in all levels of government and fixing the election was one them.

The entire cast performed magnificently in their roles in this movie considering the little value that the screenplay displayed to the audience. I was disappointed in this Oliver Stone film and the ending totally sucked. I rated this film 4 out of 10.

INDIANA JONES-The Kingdom of the Skulls

Movie Review by:
Fat Cat Randy

The new Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull action adventure film from the brilliant minds of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas did not match up to any of it’s Indy adventurous predecessors. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good action movie and the story line wasn’t bad either. However, the special effects team hit and missed with their duties on this film. Some effects worked while some of them did not. With the film’s big budget and its long awaited release, why would Mr. Spielberg sign off on this film’s final footage and not re-shoot several action scenes?

Harrison Ford, as usual delivered a solid performance as Indiana Jones, the whip master. Although, time takes it toll on our bodies and it’s time to pass the Indy torch and give the young gun a try at the whip. Shia LaBeouf’s performance gave this film the super extra rush of energy when they needed it the most. I’m sure Steven Spielberg will cast this talented kid for all future Indy adventures. Cate Blanchett, the evil Russian wench gave a wicked cool solid performance with a sexy twisted approach. Where was Karen Allen? Her scenes were few but what I did see, she delivered a good performance.

Over all, I rated this movie a 7.25 out of 10. The music score was outstanding and flowed with the action. This film will reach a whole new generation and will be a super BLOCKBUSTER for the Steven Spielberg and George Lucas foundations, (Pockets). I’m sure Paramount will be rewarded as well. Toys are flying off the shelves as fast as they stock them. I predict this film will gross over $300 million domestically and over $600 million worldwide. There will be another sequel and we won’t have to wait 20 years for it.

IRON MAN

IRON MAN
Movie Review
By: Fat Cat Randy

Hello readers, I just got back from watching IRON MAN. After seeing the Trailer, I was in like flint. OMG, this movie was the SHIZ-NIT brother, from the beginning to the very end. Director, Jon Favreau really made a bold accomplished statement with this Comic Book Smash. This movie will be a Summer Blockbuster, for sure. I may have to go and see it again.

The Screenplay was so artistically written and it was filled with comedy and intense action. It had all the bells and whistles that produce the big Hollywood bucks. The crafty special effects team waved a magical wand and delivered the world a new humorous Comic Book Hero. IRON MAN processed all the cool super cool hero gadgets, weapons and futuristic power to fight his enemies. He was just flat out AWESOME people. This movie has some serious MoJo baby, (Music). The soundtrack was right on.

This role puts Robert Downey Jr., back on the map baby. He gave a super solid performance and I loved the way, the script put his character so far out there on the edge with his sarcastic, but playful humor. Oh yes, lets not forget the evil Jeff Bridges. He was outstanding as the evil bad villain. Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow also gave super solid performances in their roles in this action adventure. I see sequels written all over the wall here, baby. Oh Yeah!

I predict this film will gross over $275 million or more by the end of the summer. I have the Official Trailer on my MySpace page and my Blogger page, so go and check it out. When they release this on DVD, it will be added to my collection. Don’t wait around on this one folks. Get to the theaters and catch the summer super hero fever, Oh Yeah, baby.

Cloverfield

DVD Movie Review
by: Fat Cat Randy

This film was very witty, cleverly written and almost delivered masterfully. Screenwriter, Drew Goddard shows his talent with this awesome script. The action and thrills from the alien creatures was fierce and totally captivating. I was squeezing my arm rest on my chair until my hands hurt.

The intense journey to get to the other side of Manhattan was for love. The alien creatures and the demolished city’s obstacles that this group of friends had to endure to get there was storytelling at its best.

The cast, Mike Vogel, Lizzy Caplan, Michael Stahl-David, Odette Yustman and Jessica Lucas all delivered solid performances and gave this scary film its artistic shock and all. Director, Matt Reeves missed a little on this one.

Fat Cat Randy says, “Dude, hand held cameras show intense footage, but using it through out the entire movie took away from your awesome action sci-fi flick!”

This film grossed $80 million domestically and $166 million worldwide on a $25 million budget. The film made money but where was the music? With such creativity and talent, why no music? This film would have grossed between $100-125 million domestically if it had, (MoJo) baby. This film needed Music, Music, still camera footage and Music Baby. I rated this movie an 8/10 and would have been higher if there was Mojo.

Fat Cat Randy's Movie Review Journal

After my long and aggravating journey of waiting ever so patiently for the studios to release 10,000 B.C., now, I can tell you that this epic and (soon to be) BLOCK BUSTER film was truly amazing, well worth the wait and the price of admission. This prehistoric action adventure told a powerful and brilliant story of Love, Family, Courage and Resolve. This film had a soft canvas, bight colors and all the creative elements to complete a beautiful Masterpiece.

I felt the thrill of the clan’s hunt and their sorrow due to hunger. The film’s spectacular action sequence’s in the jungle with the giant prehistoric birds trying to eat them was absolutely magnificent. The jittery suspense in this film will make your body twitch as the clan hunts its prey through the valley or when they run for their lifes in the jungle, trying to escape certain death, either by man or by beast. The stand alone warrior unites all the clans and tribes in hopes that they can free their people from slavery. The battle plan to charge the large magnanimous Mammoths down the pyramid work ramp, killing hundreds of enemy combatants was delivered, (smack), right down the center, man! What a roller coaster!

I give kudos to the Director/Screenwriter, Roland Emmerich for a well polished film. The computer and special effects team hit a home run when they gave us, the fast action herds of large Mammoths and the angry unpredictable spirit of the Saber Tooth Tiger scenes. Steven Strait, Camilla Belle, Cliff Curtis, Omar Sharif and Tim Barlow all delivered solid performances in their rolls. The music score from Harald Kloser and Thomas Wander gave this film real power, baby. All the details were there.

I don’t understand why this film is getting poor reviews from the professionals. I predict this film will gross over $100 million domestically. Don’t wait around on this one folks, get to the theaters. This film will be added to my DVD collection, when released. I rated this film 8/10.

Eastern Promises

DVD Movie Review
By: Fat Cat Randy
http://www.myspace.com/fatcatrandy

This hit Russian mobster movie really delivered a bold and powerful punch with an edgy sword. The films storyline flowed with ease and the graphic violence delivered a "Shock & Awe" to its audience. What a ride. Oh Yeah!

This film proves that stories of ruthless crime families still exists around the world and not just in America. Tattoos will always tell ones stories and where they've been. Eastern Promises lacked music & pre-selected thumping music scores to keep the audience twitching and holding on to their chairs.

The Cast & Crew delivered masterfully and the film was well scripted. But it was the skillful acting that got this film the Oscar Nominations. Over all, I really liked this film. It was a pretty good movie and it had moments of true grit, but I must say, I didn't like the way the director ended it! I rated this film a 7/10.

Jumper

Movie Review
By: Fat Cat Randy

Teleporting all across the world, robbing banks and dashing to the refrigerator was a clever, high concept idea and this film was truly an awesome flick. It gave me that comic book atmosphere with the possibilities of future realistic heroes and bad guys. Who needs guns when you can teleport and throw buses at your enemy.

David Rice, (Hayden Christen) realizes from an early age he could teleport. After leaving home and years later, he’s wealthy and lives in a cool New York downtown bachelor pad, popping in and out of places around the world, only to realize he’s not alone. Jamie Bell, the punk Jumper introduces himself to David and shows him the other side of the Jumpers life. Millie (Rachel Bilson) his long lost high school love is now a part of the Jumper world.

Jumpers are a race of people that are hunted down by (The Jumper Slayers). Samuel L. Jackson, (Sisqo) the white haired character is the head slayer. Jackson was magnificent in this roll. I couldn’t see another actor playing this roll. The action scenes were filmed from Tokyo to Egypt and were all well executed. Teleporting buses in the fight scenes to removing half of an apartment to escape the danger. Every time someone would teleport, the room shakes, papers fly, and bad things happen. The jump hole stays open for someone else to leap through. The action was definitely there.

Working with a very talented cast and crew, Director, (Doug Liman) gave his audience what they came to the theater to watch, an entertaining action adventure film. He knows how to keep a film interesting. We could see the little things stand out. We’ve seen it before, (The Bourne Identity). Kudos to David Goyer, Simon Kinberg and Jim Uhls for a well scripted screenplay. The entire cast, Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Bell, Katie Boland, Rachel Bilson, Dianne Lane and Teresa Palmer should be very proud of this entertaining film.
