“HOT TUB TIME MACHINE”, was totally hilarious from start to finish. Director, Steve Pink smacked a homer to centerfield with the release of this movie. The cast, John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robertson, Lizzy Caplin and Chevy Chase all hit their marks and their timing on most of the jokes was nearly perfect. There was one crude scene that I would have edited out but that’s Hollywood.

Friends decide to take another friend back in time to their old skiing resort where they all hung out and partied back in the eighties. This trip was set up because one of the friends tried to kill himself. Something about four dudes in a hot tub with beverages from Russia? What a concept. I’m going out on a limb here but I predict this film will gross over $100M by the end of the summer. It started out slow but it will gain memento as movie watchers spread the word on the net.

This is a MUST SEE flick readers either with your buddies or your better half. CHECK IT BABY.

SUNDAY IS OSCAR NIGHT - TUNE IN!

Okay everyone, it’s Oscar Weekend and Sunday we’ll see the big Man of Gold spread the Hollywood Joy of Entertainment Success and (The Gold) to the elite actors, writers, directors and everyone else who keeps the human race entertained at the Cinemas.

When the Academy announced that it would extend its Best Picture nominees from five movies to ten, it was clearly in reaction to all the great movies that has been released and shows the recognition of how more popular movies needed to be in play in order to boost interest in the Whole Oscar Business.

Last year's nominees were the least-attended on record at nomination time. This year, the nomination of Avatar alone more than tripled their cumulative gross.
The Best Picture nominees in order of gross are:

Avatar, Up, The Blind Side, Inglorious Basterds, District 9, Up in the Air, Precious, The Hurt Locker, A Serious Man, and An Education.

Five movies grossed over $100 million (three of which were blockbusters) and five movies grossed less. The nominees run the gamut from all time blockbuster Avatar's $595.8 million to specialty release An Education's $8.8 million.

I’m personally taking Avatar to be the big, big winner of the night. It is a shame that these awards shows can’t hand out more than one award for each movie category. I also think that the people who watch the movies should vote for the winner just like on American Idol. In any case, tune in Sunday Night for the Oscar Mayhem.

SHUTTER ISLAND - Falls Short!

After checking out, “Shutter Island’s” movie trailer, I was ready for a fright from the great Director, Martin Scorsese. However, I was very disappointed to say the least. The final cut of this highly anticipated mind bending film came up short for me.

Many scenes were carried out way to long! The script was too long, needed a trim. This film hit and missed with me. I don’t want to be a spoiler so go check it out. I did not like the ending but it’s worth a visit to the Matinee.

The entire Cast carried this film until the end. This films MOJO really Rocked. The special effects crew should be very proud of their finish work with the lighting and back drops.

Director, Martin Scorsese missed a little on this film. I’m a big fan of you, Martin so call me on your next location and I’ll give your script a peek. Check this film out, GO TO THE MATINEE…

This was an Awesome Movie.

This was an AWESOME modern day Iraqi war film that will forever tattoo your heart, once you see it. The vision and the way the director took this story was amazing and enjoyable to watch unfold before your very eyes. I wanted to keep on watching and waiting to see where the story would go. I could not walk away until the very end. This was unusal to say the least for me.
The director should be very proud of this Movie Magic, she preformed. I see why this film has been nomanated for so many awards. This film encourages me and I want to personally thank those of you who serve and God Bless you all. If you have not seen this Movie, get out there and check it. You'll be glad you did.
